Youth have the opportunity to experience American Quarter Horse racing.

Be honest...how many of you have been out on the trail and decided to make like Joe Badilla, Jr. by taking up your stirrups, gathering your reins and heading out across the pasture at full speed (all the time watching out for prairie dog holes, of course)? Take the adrenaline you felt then, multiply it by 10 and there you have it-- the sport of American Quarter Horse Racing. There's nothing--and I mean NOTHING-- that compares to the EXPLOSION of horses leaving the starting gates, FEELING the ground shake as they head down the track FLYING past and you LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL when your horse crosses the finish line first.

Here's the scoop - As long as you are an AQHYA member you've got a couple of chances to getcha' some of the Youth Racing Experience. So hang on... here we go.

AQHYA National Racing Experience             

Where’d you learn how to do that? This is something you’ll be asked over and over again after attending the AQHYA National Racing Experience. Top AQHYA members will be picked for an all expense paid trip to the Bank of America National Racing Experience. This isn’t just some joy ride though. You’ve got to be ready to get down to the nitty gritty of early morning, late nights and a lot in between. By the end of your experience, you’ll know the ins and outs of horse racing “gar-on-teeeed.” You’ll be working with owners, trainers, jockeys and of course, horses in the horse racing industry. All you have to do is apply, but hurry! Deadline for applications to be in office is September 3.

AQHYA Regional Racing Experience

Spend a weekend with "America's Fastest Athletes" at an AQHYA Regional Racing Experience.

The AQHYA Regional Experience consists of one to two day events to introduce you to the sport of racing. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look into the industry and meet the people who help the show go on everyday. AQHA state and provincial affiliates host these experiences so you won't have to venture too far from home. Call your AQHA Racing Affiliate to find out when their next event is.
