Publications Internship | Marketing and Communications Internship | Youth Department Internship | About Amarillo
"The American Quarter Horse Association is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in hiring or employment practices for reasons of race, color, national origin, citizenship status, sex, age, religious creed, or handicap."
AQHA's publications department consists of The American Quarter Horse Journal and America's Horse, and their respective Internet and social media properties.
Our magazines reach into all aspects of the horse industry, from horse racing to showing to recreational activities like trail riding. In the past, our interns have written features and short items for print and online coverage of the American Quarter Horse industry and related activities.
We offer three paid publications internships: spring (January-May), summer (May-August) and fall (August-December).
With the evolution of AQHA's Internet and social media publishing projects, the duties of the Brown Printing Co. intern have been refocused from working on the Association's magazines to managing AQHA's online and digital content. In 2008, the AQHA publications team developed a new website, America's Horse Daily, where we provide all horse owners with educational information on how to care for and train their horses. Besides being a one-stop shop for all information, America's Horse Daily (an online extension of America's Horse magazine, the official member publication of AQHA), also has five specialized daily e-newsletters and one weekly e-newsletter that America's Horse Daily visitors site can subscribe to.
The content on the America's Horse Daily website and in the daily e-newsletters, along with regular updating of the Association's Facebook and Twitter pages, is now the primary responsibility of the Brown Printing Co. intern.
