From lace to bright colors and even animal prints, everything that you need for your summer western wardrobe can be found right at the Battle in the Saddle trade show.

The Journal sat down with resident AQHA fashion expert Dana Railsback to talk about the must-haves of the season. Here's what the director of Quarter Horse Outfitters, the official AQHA store, had to say:

  • This season is about mixing feminine with western - wear lots of lace, especially in the form of a dress, and pair it with cowboy boots
  • To accessorize, add a belt and jewelry; chunky necklaces are a must for any cowgirl's collection, and a clip in the hair is going to finish it off perfectly
  • Don't be afraid to bust out the cheetah and zebra - animal print is still hot
  • Orange (bright orange) is the color of the season; you can coordinate it with blacks, pinks, pretty much anything. That's the great thing about orange

The Quarter Horse Outfitters booth at the Battle in the Saddle trade show offers a little bit of everything for women, men and kids. At the booth, you'll find tons of AQHA-logoed gear like T-shirts, stadium seats, lunch boxes and cooler totes.

There are a few items that are already hot sellers at Battle in the Saddle. One of those items flying off the shelves is a crystallized lanyard that features a snap for your iPhone. You can hang your name tag, badge, keys, iPhone, anything you can think of, off this lanyard. (User warning: If you load it up too much, you might be making a much-needed trip to the chiropractor.) iPhone users, your life might not be complete until you have this lanyard, and you can pick one up at the Quarter Horse Outfitters booth.

The trade show at Battle in the Saddle offers a little bit of everything for everyone. Boots, bling, hats and hay nets, you'll find it all in the concourse of the Jim Norick Arena and lining the Super Barn.
