The Fire Marshall and Safety Management Team of Oklahoma City evaluated the Oklahoma State Fair Park on June 2, according to the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Association, State Fair Park is now considered safe to hold events. Details have been worked out between the Redbud Spectacular management and State Fair Park to continue with the show.
The facility will be up and running at 7 a.m. June 6 to receive horses. The reining portion of the Redbud Spectacular will take place June 7-9.
The Oklahoma State Fairgrounds had been closed since June 1, when Oklahoma City’s safety management team evaluated the fairgrounds in the aftermath of strong storms that hit the Oklahoma City area on May 31, damaging the facility where exhibitors were preparing for the Redbud Spectacular.
No horses, participants or spectators were injured in the storms.
