GAC will highlight events from the Wrangler Champions Challenge in Amarillo.
Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Road to the Wrangler NFR series on the Great American Country television network will feature the Wrangler Champions Challenge from Amarillo, home of the American Quarter Horse Association, at 4 p.m. CDT on September 29, with a repeat at 8 a.m. CDT on October 5.
AQHA has been a long-time sponsor of PRCA, including the presentation of the AQHA-PRCA Horse of the Year awards and support of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. AQHA also supports PRCA’s expanded television programming on GAC-TV, with brief features in several shows called AQHA’s Horse Power. The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum will be featured in coverage of the Wrangler Champions Challenge from Amarillo.
The Champions Challenge rodeos feature the top 10 competitors in each event. The format is a 10-person, single-round rodeo, with the wins going to the fastest times and highest scores. Amarillo was the second stop for the Challenge, with upcoming events in Kissimmee, Florida, and Winnie, Texas.
AQHA hosted the PRCA Wrangler Champions Challenge contestants September 18 at the Hall of Fame. The competitors participated in a special luncheon and draw at the Hall of Fame before competing that evening at the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo.
