AQHA Honorary Vice President, Bill Chaney passes.

AQHA Honorary Vice President W.E. “Bill” Chaney, 89, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away January 30. Bill was born February 25, 1924, in Garden City, Texas, and he graduated from Garden City High School.

He married Dorothy Childers on February 9, 1945, and they were married for 56 years. He was a lifetime member of the Garden City Methodist Church. Bill owned and operated Russco Chemical from 1960 to 1974. He was president of the West Texas Quarter Horse Association in 1985, and became an AQHA director in 1980 and was named an AQHA Honorary Vice President in 1989.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his sons, Fred Chaney and his wife, Claudia, and grandson Evan and his wife, Vicki; son Sam Chaney; and grandson Christopher.
