Race Record: Bringin the Gray is the final qualifier to the All American Derby (G1) after scoring by a half-length in :21.590 at 30-1 odds.

The winner of two of 11 career races, with earnings of $10,292, Bringin The Gray was winless in six starts as a 2-year-old. His closest finish was a second in maiden company at Lone Star Park, but the runner-up placing was wiped out when the gelding was disqualified to 10th for interference.

Bringin The Gray broke his maiden in his first race at 3, in his March 8 trial to the Oklahoma Derby at Remington Park. The gelding next ran fourth in allowance company and fifth in a trial to the Heritage Place Derby (G2).

Taken to Ruidoso, he finished eighth in the July 18 Rainbow Derby (G1) trial won by Bodacious Eagle, who qualified to the final. 

Breeder: AQHA Past President Walter Fletcher and his wife, Pat, of Lakin, Kansas, have bred in their own names the earners of more than $3.3 million. Among them are champion Sweet N Special and her granddaughter, Bringin The Gray's dam None As Easy, as well as champion Sterling Sport ($266,223) and AQHA Open Supreme Champion Cartel Caliente.

Owners: Edilberto and Oscar Estrada are based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and acquired the gelding, their first horse in partnership, in July. Bringin The Gray was originally sold at the 2013 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale for $40,000. Edilberto owns 25 starters that have earned more than $947,000. These include Buildemhigh ($135,679) and Little Bit Southern ($322,330).

Trainer: Jesus Marquez since 2010 has trained the winners of 37 races in 272 starts, with more than $443,000 in earnings. He saddled Gotloveifyouwantit to win the 2012 Tommy "Duke" Smith Handicap (RG2) at SunRay Park.

Jockey: Manuel Gutierrez's mounts have earned more than $1.4 million since he began riding in 2005. He also guided Undivided Atemption to win the 2015 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge (G3) and Dash Master Jess to win the Bank of America Sam Houston Championship Challenge (G2) in 2014.

He also rode All American Derby qualifiers Mad About The Moon, Dynazip and All American Futurity finalist Lethal Volcom.

A champion earner of $687,184 on the track, Mr Jess Perry is the second-leading living sire of racing American Quarter Horses, with progeny earnings of more than $46 million. Owned by a syndicate, the 23-year-old son of Streakin La Jolla stands at Burnett Ranches’ Four Sixes Ranch at Guthrie, Texas.

Bringin The Gray is one of nine winners from 14 starters out of the graded stakes-winning and Grade 1-placed Dashin Is Easy mare None As Easy ($265,132), who has produced the earners of more than $410,000.

Bringin The Gray is a half-brother to the graded stakes-winning and Grade 1-placed Agouti mare Believers Gathering ($180,664) and stakes-placed Azoom gelding Zoomin For Ease ($6,847), and a full brother to stakes-placed runner Call As Maybe ($28,256).
