Broodmare Come Hell Or Hiwater, dam of champion All About Larry, died the week of March 3 from complications of foaling.
The sorrel mare by Shoot Yeah was foaled in 1998 out of the First Down Dash mare All Hell Is Loose. She was bred by former AQHA President Robert Kieckhefer of Prescott, Arizona, and owned by Diane Heath of Cochise, Arizona.
The mare comes from the immediate family that has produced recent champion 2-year-old Handsome Jack Flash ($1,482,271) and Grade 1-placed runner Rush Fora First Down ($149,094).
Racing nine times, Come Hell Or Hiwater was a winner on the track, with one win, four seconds and one third and earnings of $4,432. She earned a career-high speed index of 101.
From seven registered foals, she has produced three starters and two winners.
Her biggest was All About Larry, a gelded son of Heza Motor Scooter foaled in 2007. All About Larry is a five-time stakes winner, with his biggest victory coming in the 2012 Red Cell Distance Challenge Championship (G1). A three-time track record setter at 870 yards, he was named the sport’s distance champion in 2012. He has won or placed in 16 of 24 starts and earned $191,464.
She is also the dam of stakes winner A Splash Of Hell, by Splash Bac, a multiple stakes winner and earner of $102,076.
Come Hell Or Hiwater was carrying a full brother to All About Larry, who also did not survive.
