Two-time Canadian champion Its All About Speed got his first stakes winner on Wednesday when Pete Schoeler's Poutn With Speed won the $27,278 Alberta Stallion Stakes Derby at Northlands Park.

Under jockey Scott Sterr, Poutn With Speed completed the 330 yards in :17.210 seconds, a 92 speed index, earning $12,275. William Leech saddled the homebred, from the Okey Dokey Dale mare Poutnlori, who was making his first start this year.

From a limited number of starters in two crops to race, Its All About Speed has sired two winners including the aforementioned stakes winner Poutn With Speed (4 wins to 3, $44,652), Kananaskis (Winner at 2, $8,865), Jssweet Sassymollassy ($3,222 to 3, 2013), Rocky Mountain Miss ($2,981), etc.

Owned by Shady Lane Stables and Lucas Racing, Inc. Its All About Speed won or placed 21 of 28 career starts, earning $191,77. Twice named the Canadian champion, he won the Canadian Cup Futurity (RG3), Canada Championship Challenge (G3), Alberta Bred Futurity, Canada Derby Challenge, AQHRA Aged Series Classic Stakes-twice, All Canadian Derby of Alberta, etc.

The son of Hall-of-Fame sire Streakin La Jolla is out of the multiple champion producing Special Task mare Rosas Special. She is also the dam of Canadian champion and multiple stakes sire Mezoomn ($88,837), stakes-placed Cassie Carver ($31,624), stakes-placed Pretty Special Boy ($17,193) and stakes-placed Special Corona ($10,870). She is the granddam of 2012 two-year-old stakes winner Belladonte ($27,113).

The second dam is the Dash For Cash mare and Grade 1 finalist Old Love Of Mine ($77,976), a full sister to Champion of Champions (G1) winner Justanold Love ($949,836), Calling For Cash ($95,715), Oh My Dash ($71,257) and half-sister to Callmemyoh ($179,479), etc. It is the immediate family of All American Futurity(G1) winner Streakin Flyer ($1,141,128), Chicks Are Streakin ($196,514), etc.
