Straight line winds during a late summer North Texas thunderstorm hit JEH Stallion Station's Texas division near Pilot Point Tuesday afternoon  (August 7), destroying the ranch's mare motel.

Around 3 p.m. (CDT), winds ripped through the center of an 88-stall mare motel a few yards from the JEH ranch office, completing destroying the building. According to one witness "the wind peeled the barn down the middle like a can opener."

Luckily most of the barn was empty and no horses or humans were reported injured.

JEH General Manger Andrew Gardiner said, "The wind also turned a 20 foot aluminum horse trailer sitting in the parking lot next to the office from an East to West direction to sitting North and South."
