According to a report this morning on
Bloodhorse.com
, Louisiana-based jockey Trevino Clark has been suspended six months by stewards for his refusal to submit to a urine test when requested, the third time the rider has received the same penalty for that offense.
Clark was suspended from Jan. 30-July 30 of this year after refusing to submit to a test when ordered by the state steward Jan. 22. His case has also been referred to the Louisiana State Racing Commission for whatever further action they deem necessary.
The 37-year-old jockey was suspended 30 days by Evangeline Downs stewards in spring 1997 after testing positive for an unspecified controlled dangerous substance. The following year, Delta Downs stewards suspended him for six months after he refused to provide a urine sample when ordered to. The second six-month suspension for refusing to submit to a urine test was handed out from March 9-Sept. 8, 2011.
