Due to health and welfare concerns, judge orders sale of horses linked to Zule Farms.
August 6, 2012
A report from
The Oklahoman's
website reports that a Texas judge has agreed to the sale of more than 450 horses linked to a federal prosecution of Jose Trevino Morales and his wife Zulema Trevino, who are alleged by federal prosecutors to be linked with a Mexican cartel.
According to the report, eleven horses have died and more have become sick or injured since FBI agents raided the Lexington, Oklahoma, farm in June. Due to health and welfare issues, the judge agreed to the sale.
A date and place for the sale has not yet been announced.
