Los Alamitos kicks off its major futurity season with Kindergarten trials on May 4.

Videos of the gate workouts for the 2-year-olds that will be competing in the freshman division this season are now available for viewing at www.losalamitos.com/Workouts.aspx.

The available videos feature over 100 2-year-olds in action and some have already caught the eye based on their impressive clockings at 220 yards, as well as the royal bloodlines of those in action. Many of these horses will make their season debuts in mid April and figure to compete in the trials to the Kindergarten Futurity on Sunday, May 4.

Among the horses that worked on March 11, Antonio Flores’ Stel Corona filly Old Girl stands out following a :12.3 clocking. Celina Molina’s Arizona-bred colt Viento Negro also posted a :12.3 drill on that morning.

Meanwhile, Symbol Of Freedom worked in :12.4 and stands out as a half sister to 2014 Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) winner Nellie Delaney.

Flying L Ranch’s Flying Porsche posted a :12.5 workout on Tuesday. This is filly by Walk Thru Fire out of Departing, which makes her a half-sister to multiple-Grade 1 winner Snitcher. Lisa Beauprez’s Wild Sixes Cartel showed a lot of late run in his workout with a time of :12.4. Wild Sixes Cartel’s mother is the 2007 Rainbow Futurity (G1) winner Wild Six.

Six horses posted workouts on Thursday, March 13 with horses sired by Apollitical Jess, One Famous Eagle, Walk Thru Fire, Apollo Chick and First Class Sign. Oneapolliticalflight, a filly sired by One Famous Eagle and out of Apollitical Dash, posted the morning’s top time of :12.3 for trainer Juan Aleman. Oneapolliticalflight is eligible to the Los Alamitos $1 million Cash Bonanza.

More workout videos will be added on a weekly basis at losalamitos.com.
