At the request of the governor’s office, the search for a new executive director of the Minnesota Racing Commission has been re-opened.

The position was posted this week and will remain open to qualified applicants through June 27.

Selection will be based upon a resume-based, skill-matching process coordinated for the Commission and governor’s office by Minnesota Management and Budget. The director position has been vacant since October 2012 when the incumbent retired. By statute the governor selects a director from a list of names submitted by the Commission.

The Minnesota Racing Commission is a state agency with nine year-round employees and additional seasonal employees that support a nine member board appointed by the governor to regulate pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing and card club operations at two licensed racetracks in Minnesota.
