Minor Changes in Racing Poll

Minor changes to the racing poll, major changes on the horizon.

Pollsters made little change to this week’s AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Top-10 polls as Lota PYC and Cold Cash 123 remained firmly on top of the 2-year-old, and 3-year-olds and older rankings, respectively. In fact, Cold Cash 123 continued once again as the unanimous No. 1 on all ballots.

The only shift in the polls came with the 2-year-olds, where PYC Kant Katch Me jumped one spot to No. 5 this week and Interesting Man dropped to No. 6.  PYC Kant Katch Me turned heads in the Heritage Place Futurity (G1) trials and can make a strong case for a continued rise when he reappears in the $1,150,000 final on May 26 at Remington Park. The race figures to have a major impact on the poll, as three other ranked horses are contesting the Heritage Place, including No. 2 El Duero, No. 3 Dash For Coronas and No. 10 Thequeenhasgonenuts.

The national 2-year-old poll figures to get a shake-up this week with Sunday’s final for the $268,200 Kindergarten Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos. Blackberry Czech is the fastest qualifier and currently sits just outside the Top 10 juvenile rankings in a tie for 11th.
