The recently retired Miss Racy Jess, who was named champion 3-year-old filly of 2011, is set to be bred to Walk Thru Fire and First Down Dash in 2012, according to co-owner Johnny Trotter of Hereford, Texas.

“She is resting nicely in California right now,” said Trotter. “She will eventually be moved over to Burns Ranch and we hope to get her bred to Walk Thru Fire and First Down Dash if time permits. In 2011, she was bred to Walk Thru Fire and we were able to transfer the embryo. We plan on doing the same in 2012, but will follow that up with a breeding to First Down Dash.”

Miss Racy Jess, a daughter of Mr Jess Perry, was named champion 3-year-old filly after a stellar 2011 campaign that saw her find victory in three of six starts, including the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby on November 6th. That victory earned her a berth into the Champion of Champions (G1), which yielded a seventh place finish. Trained by Trey Wood, she was retired with $485,113 in earnings from six victories in 11 lifetime starts. As a two year old Miss Racy Jess qualified for the 2010 All American Futurity (G1), but was squeezed at the start and had to settle for a seventh-place finish.

Burnett Ranches, Ltd., who also stand Mr Jess Perry at their 6666 Ranch in Guthrie, Texas, co-own the filly with Trotter. Sunflower Supply Company bred Miss Racy Jess in Oklahoma from the Racin Free mare Miss Racy Vike.
