Highly anticipated two-year-old action got underway Wednesday in Oklahoma as Remington Park hosted the first of two-days of schooling races this week. The second day of training is set for noon (CST) Friday (February 10).

Eleven races were run during a brisk 36 degree day over the Oklahoma City racing surface with a 4 mph tailwind. Teller Ima Rockstar posted the top time of :13.64 to garner the top spot from 78 American Quarter Horses and Paints that went to the post.

Owned by Rancho El Porvenir of Josha, Texas, Teller Ima Rockstar is a 2-year-old by 2011 Leading Third Crop sire Teller Cartel. Wendy Garcia saddled the brown colt out of the stakes winning Calyx mare Newport Fancy. After a good start, jockey Juan Garcia encouraged Teller Ima Rockstar. He tried to lug in but still held sway to win. Stewart Horses, Ltd. bred Teller Ima Rockstar in Texas.

A pair of PYC Paint Your Wagon colts each clocked a :13.67 to tie for the second fastest time. From his first two crops to race, the son of Corona Cartel has been the Leading First and Second Crop sire in 2010 and 2011.

Bulletsinthegun left gate well in the first race for trainer Eddie Willis. He was tapped by the jockey mid-race and went on to win by three-quarters of a length. James Sills of Cedar Hill, Texas, purchased the colt last month out of Flyin Legal by Illegal Runway. Jimmy and Elaine Coffman bred the bay stallion in Texas

After a slight hop at the start of race 5, JC Lil Wagon was asked for more effort in the second half of the race and responded with a one length win. Luis Villafranco trains the PYC Paint Your Wagon homebred for Jose Cervantes. He is the first foal out of stakes-placed Stoli mare Oh Cherokee Rose, who was third in the 2007 Remington Park Futurity (G1).
