The January 15 nomination deadline is next Monday for all foals of 2012 to gain eligibility to the 2014 runnings of the Grade 1, $2.6 million All American; $900,000 Rainbow and $700,000 Ruidoso futurities.

For a single payment of $250 by January 15, the yearling (foal of 2012) will gain eligibility to all three classic futurities at Ruidoso Downs.

If any horse sweeps the three futurities then the horse’s connections earn the $4 million All American Triple Crown Bonus, the richest bonus in Quarter Horse racing. The first-place checks from each of the three futurities plus the bonus total nearly $6 million for the horse’s connections.

The All American Futurity is the richest race in North America for 2-year-old racehorses of any breed.

Nominated horses may also maintain their eligibility to race in the 2015 runnings of the Grade 1 Ruidoso, Rainbow and All American derbies at Ruidoso Downs. The 2012 All American Derby had a purse of $2,234,539 and is the richest race for 3-year-old and older quarter horses.
