There are still several Grade 1-winning or -siring stallions available in the FQHRA Stallion Service Auction on a first come, first serve basis.
FQHRA will pay the farm/chute fee on all remaining stallions as long as the minimum bid is $300 more than the farm/chute fee. All foals sired by stallions that sell in the 2012 auction will be eligible for the 2015 FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity (R). In only its second running, the FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity was worth nearly $93,000.
There are still a few accredited Florida stallions available in the auction and all accredited Florida-breds conceived in 2012 will be eligible for the 2015 $200,000-guaranteed Florida Bred Futurity (R).
Several additional racing Quarter Horse permit holders have applied for days in the upcoming fiscal year, so Florida should have at least a few tracks racing a full schedule of live racing (40 days with eight races per day) by 2015.
"Now is the time to take advantage of the low supply and high demand for quality accredited Florida-breds," said FQHRA President Dr. Steve Fisch.
"FQHRA once again thanks all the stallion owners, stallion farms and mare owners for making our 7th FQHRA Stallion Service Auction a success. The money goes toward the FQHRA Stallion Stakes Futurity and toward creating more quality racing opportunities for racing American Quarter Horses," he added.
