Bob and Jerry Gaston's multiple stakes-producing mare Wasting No Time died Sunday. She was 27.

A daughter of leading broodmare sire Streakin Six, Wasting No Time was a full sister to 1984 champion 2-year-old filly Sixy Chick, a winner of 11 of 15 starts who earned $751,284. Bred by Preston M Carter Jr., Wasting No Time was also a full sister to Grade 3 winner and leading sire Sixarun ($291,228).

Placed only once in six starts at 2 and 3, Wasting No Time was sold and resold by agent James Pruitt to a number of his clients until 1998 when Bob and Jerry Gaston purchased her. The Texas couple owned her until her death.

Wasting No Time produced 21 named foals, 19 starters, 19 ROM, three stakes winners and three stakes-placed earners of nearly $450,000. Her offspring include stakes winners Wasting No Cash ($77,992), Generating Cash ($30,261), Timeless Favorite ($23,910) and stakes-placed runners Some Waste Time ($72,959), Corona Cerveza ($38,611), Heza Two Timing Man ($27,120) and Chicory Glass ($19,853). Her last foal, Generating Cash, was born in 2010 and he won the 2012 Heritage Place Juvenile (R) at Remington Park.

Wasting No Time is also the granddam of numerous stakes horses including champion aged gelding Gotta Get ($972,834), 2012 Sunland Park Winter Futurity (G2) winner Wasting No Corona ($119,509 to 3), RG1-placed Corona Toast ($233,224) and RG2-placed Corona Dashin Bye ($85,768). She is also the great-granddam of two-time Remington Park Distance Handicap (G3) winner Stone E Motion ($125,566), etc.

Out of the stakes winning Chick's Deck mare Chickarun ($43,455), this is the female family of such outstanding runners, sires and producers as Eye For Corona ($1,100,121), Valors Gold ($319,114), Brookstone Bay ($183,770), First Down Mr Jess ($180,612), Down With You ($222,052), Remarkably Ritzy ($200,138), Sixes Royal ($384,977) and many more.

Wasting No Time will be laid to rest next to her stakes-winning son Wasting No Cash at the Gaston's ranch near Seguin.
