CC Seis Takes Hill Country Dash Challenge

Tres Seis filly defeats older horses for her first career stakes win.

Three-year-old CC Seis scored her first stakes victory on Sunday with 1 ¾ length winning effort against older horses in the $16,350 Hill County Dash Bonus Challenge at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds. The race is part of the Bonus Challenge, presented by Markel, for Bank of America Racing Challenge-enrolled horses.

Luis Vivanco rode the homebred for Danny Miller to a :22.087 clocking over the 440 yard distance, a 96 speed index. The $9,810 winner's purse boosted her career total to $87,682. Cindi Keeton is the trainer. It was the fourth win in nine starts for the Tres Seis filly out of Cassandra Crest, by Holland Ease.

Daniel Roman's Mr Jess Feature finished second for trainer Cleto Martinez Jr. Mercy Hinklin bred the Feature Mr Jess gelding in Texas from the A Royal Jet mare Chicks And Ladies. Ridden by Eliazar Vera, he earned $3,270 for the effort.

A nose back in the show position, Struttin High earned $1,645 for owner Joanna Turner. Alvin Turner conditions the 8-year-old Struttin To Beduino gelding out of Regally Rare, by Rare Form. Melody Brooks was aboard the Michael Teel Missouri-bred.

Completing the field were JA Fascination, Check On Chic, Wave Of Fortune, High Class Jet, Dm Matt Dillon.
