Delta Downs hosted the $25,000 Develop A Plan Stakes (G3) on Saturday night and it was leading trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr. who saddled the top two finishers for Mercy Hinklin’s Horse Farm LLC. FDD Going Grand won the race and stablemate Jetblack Gold Moment finished a neck behind in second. Mr Ease Cartel was another two lengths back in third at the finished line of the 350-yard showdown.
Roberts, who is vying for this third consecutive training title at Delta Downs and his sixth overall in the Boyd Gaming era, sent out a total of four winners on the Saturday program. To make his training quadruple even more impressive, he also sent out the top two finishers in the third race, Aint I Precious and MSM Jet Black Effort.

FDD Going Grand’s victory was accomplished in a time of :17.319 over a fast track. That clocking earned him a speed index of 96 with jockey Jose Vega in the saddle.
FDD Going Grand has now won five races from 12 overall starts. Each of his wins has come at Delta Downs during eight local outings. His $15,000 first-place paycheck on Saturday raised his career bankroll to $158,760.
Mercy Hinklin bred FDD Going Grand in Texas. The 4-year-old sorrel colt by FDD Dynasty is out of the Corona Cartel mare Cash Cartel.
