Kathy Pruitt Germany’s Fast N Furious B, the fastest qualifier and 7-5 favorite, prevailed by a head at the wire to score in the $129,100 Four Corners Futurity (G3) on Sunday at SunRay Park. Freddie Martinez rode the First N Kool gelding for trainer John Stinebaugh and clocked 350 yards in :17.247.

That final clocking represented a big improvement over the time of :17.519 posted by Fast N Furious B in his racing debut in the trials. He earned $3,000 for that effort and added another $60,677 for winning the final.

Bred in Texas by Bielau Oaks, Fast N Furious B is out of the winning Heza Fast Man mare Hollywood A List, who also produced stakes winner Hollywood Trickster, by Favorite Trick (TB). This victory also made Fast N Furious B the eighth stakes winner sired by First N Kool, a Grade 2-winning stallion by First Down Dash out of 25-time stakes winner Kool Kue Baby.

Mike Parker’s Surf N Turf Dude, a colt by Wave Carver who posted the second-fastest qualifying time with a victory in his trial, battled with Fast N Furious B all the way and finished a clear second. The Stoli colt Jess Like Stoli took third for owner Cynthia Guadalupe Gonzalez.
