Feature Mr Jess Filly Tops Day 3 Ruidoso Training Races
Featuring Alene earns the fastest time from the final day of training races at Ruidoso.

J&M Racing and Farm’s Featuring Alene stepped up with the fastest time from three days of Ruidoso Downs’ training races on Wednesday morning when she zipped 300 yards in :15.669.
The daughter of Feature Mr Jess is trained by Roberto Sanchez and was ridden by J.L. Levario. Bred by the late Terry Bell, the filly is out of the On A High mare Also A High, a stakes-placed runner and the dam of Grade 2 winner Crater Lake (by Mr Jess Perry, $171,216). Featuring Alene was a $20,000 purchase at the 2011 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Featuring Alene could make her career debut in the trials to the Grade 1, $600,000 Ruidoso Futurity on May 25, opening day of the summer season at Ruidoso Downs. She is also eligible to the $700,000 Rainbow Futurity (G1) and the $2.4 million All American Futurity (G1), the world’s richest Quarter Horse race. If any horse wins all three futurities then that horse’s connections take the $4 million All American Triple Crown Bonus.
Winners of 2011 training races at Ruidoso Downs included champion and All American Futurity winner Ochoa ($1,244,200), Ruidoso Futurity (G1) winner Silver For Me ($267,849), All American Futurity third-place finisher Tee Cos ($230,451) and Mountain Top Futurity (R) winner Sammy James ($154,518). Those four horses earned $1,896,966 last year, including $1,833,593 at Ruidoso Downs.
The horses with the 10-fastest times from the 2012 Ruidoso Downs training races are Featuring Alene (:15.669), Joker On Jack (:15.735), CR Sweet Tea (:15.754), Slumpbuster (:15.755), Carter Waves (:15.766), Dashing Ace (:15.766), Dealit (:15.853), Southern Thoughts (:15.858) Fames Majic (:15.863) and Ms Katylin Dreams (:15.869).
