Richard Wincikaby and DK Training Centre's First Down The Track picked up her second stakes win on Tuesday following an impressive three-quarter length victory in the $30,200 Maple Leaf Derby at Ajax Downs.

Under jockey Brian Bell, First Down The Track was much the best as she completed the 300 yards in :15.640, and earned a 90 speed index, over a muddy racetrack. The $12,608(US) winner's purse booster her earnings mark to $103,127. 

Trainer Don Reid saddled the sorrel Corona Cartel filly to her third win 10 starts. Lance Robinson and Max Anderson bred First Down The Track in Utah from the First Down Dash mare First Down Runner.

The winner of last year's Princess Stakes Futurity was also a runner-up in the All Canadian Futurity and finalist in the Maple Leaf Futurity at Ajax Downs.

Making his first start this season, Corderoy Road put in a bold bid late to finish a neck in front of Stolin Ivory. John McInerney rode the Rock Solid Jess gelding for owner/breeder's Gary and Marlene McNichol. David Ward conditions the Ontario homebred from the Reckless Dash mare Reckless Wish. He earned $6,305(US) to push his total mark to nearly $89,000.

Also making her first start of 2013, Stolin Ivory earned $3,152(US) for owner/breeder Guylaine Paquin. Greg Watson trains and Cory Spataro rode the Ivory James filly out of A Sixes Cowgirl, by Stoli. The multiple stakes-placed Ontario bred miss has earned $76,920.

Completing the Maple Leaf Field were Lofty, One Famous Glass, Run Madison Run and Fisher Of Men. Hi N Dry and Memories Times Six were both late scratches at the gate.
