Roi Racing’s homebred Bang For Ur Bux heads three impressive trial winners in the Gem County Futurity while Delray Takbot’s Dewey Cox tries for his fourth-straight win in the Gem County Derby on Saturday afternoon at Emmett Race Track.

The Guy Weeks-trained Bang For Ur Bux (Zoomin For Bux-Open To Cash by Mr Eye Opener) made his career debut with a three-quarter-length win in :15.920 for 300 yards while making his first start.

Trainer Monty Arrossa trained the other two trial winners who raced to the second- and third-fastest qualifying marks.

Steve Wright’s Makin Babes Hot (Walk Thru Fire-Biker Babe by Leaving Memories) nearly matched Bang For Ur Bux’s time when he won his trial by 2 lengths in :15.927. The colt scored as the overwhelming 1-9 favorite in his first start.

Jim Walker’s homebred Time For Jesse Lee (Mr Jesse Lee-Time For Noble by Mescallero Chick) took the first of the three trials by a length and stopped the timer in :15.970.

Dewey Cox (Wave Carver-Apollos Winner by Apollo (TB)) has made each of his wins during his three-racing winning streak a heart-stopping score with a nose victory in each out, including the Hawthorne Futurity. The Tony Hyde-trained gelding won his trial with a :17.137 time for 350 yards, while second-fastest qualifier Ms Eaves (Tres Seis-Little Ms Tuff Stuff by Chicks Beduino) was close behind with a :17.139 clocking.

Gerardo Prado’s Ms Eaves was the 4-5 favorite in the trial with the solid stakes credentials of winning the John Deere Les Bois Park Juvenile Challenge last summer for trainer Rodney Hyde.
