Joe Allen and Dallas Blakley’s homebred JA Jess Elegance, who has never raced at a distance exceeding 350 yards, returns from a second-place finish in the $28,000 Mockingbird Stakes at 250 yards to race the same distance in the $25,000 Biscayne Stakes Sunday afternoon at Hialeah Park.

JA Jess Elegance (Mr Jess Perry-Golly Zee by Gol) closed in the Mockingbird Stakes before coming up three quarters of a length short of Rdustys Fury. It was the first start for the Judd Kearl-trained filly since romping to a 1 1/2-length win at Lone Star Park in a conditioned allowance race on October. She turned in a sharp :16.555 time for the 330 yards.

The lightly raced 3-year-old filly has only started six times with a pair of wins. She showed promise early in her career when she raced in the $75,000 Heritage Place Juvenile (R).

The combination of owner Wade Helton and trainer Alfredo Gomez are represented by Supertanker and Blue Gene Harley.

Supertanker (Mr Jess Perry-Coronita Cartel by Corona Cartel) takes a class jump to the stakes ranks after a pair of wins against lesser company. The colt won his maiden by an easy length at Will Rogers Downs back in November and then moved to Hialeah and won an allowance race at the next level.

Blue Gene Harley (Spit Curl Jess-First Prize Corona by Corona Cartel) has made two starts at Hialeah, each at 250 yards. They include a 10th-place finish in the Mockingbird Stakes and a third in a $19,500 open allowance race.
