Denny and Sandy Weigt’s Jess Curl My Prize kept her perfect record intact on Friday with a half-length victory in the $150,126 Bitterroot Futurity (R) at Les Bois Park in Idaho. The Oklahoma-bred daughter of Spit Curl Jess dashed 350 yards in :17.507 with Nikeela Black aboard for trainer Monty Arrossa.
Jess Curl My Prize, who was bred by Weetona Stanley out of the Oak Tree Special mare First Prize Joy, debuted at the Gem County Fair in Emmett, Idaho, by crossing the wire second but was placed first after a disqualification. The filly then won a trial and the final of the Knight Transportation Futurity at Les Bois and finally another victory in her Bitterroot trial. Her earnings now stand at $83,167.
EG High Desert Farms’ homebred Perryczech, a daughter of Corona Czech who ran fourth in the Kindergarten Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos, closed well to take second. Steinway Ivory, an Ivory James gelding running for Rob Evans and Hanson Racing LLC, took third.
