Moosman has Numbers at Laurel Brown

Ron Moosman holds a strong hand for two weekend futurities.

Trainer Ron Moosman may not have the fastest qualifiers, but he has the numbers in the $43,105 Beehive Futurity and the $20,570 South Valley/Swett Ranch Futurity on Saturday at Laurel Brown Racetrack.

Mooseman has five qualifiers in the 300-yard Beehive Futurity and six horses in the 330-yard South Valley/Swett Ranch Futurity.

Dan and Patricia Baker’s homebred Virtual Moves (Maknmoves-BF Outrageous Doll by Okey Dokey Dale) is the top qualifier from the Moosman barn in the Beehive with the third-fastest qualifying time of :15.318. The gelding is undefeated from three starts and boasts a length win in the Dixie Downs Futurity on April 21 with a :15.440 time. He won his Beehive trial by a length.

Topping the Beehive qualifiers is Raul Eduardo Moreno Osuna’s Red Sum Beach (Buccaneer Beach-AC Movin Merri by Merridoc) with a :15.249 time. He won his Beehive trial by a neck for trainer Orlando Olivas and then shipped to Les Bois Park and finished fifth in a futurity trial at the Idaho track.

In the South Valley/Swett Ranch Futurity, Lee Sorensen’s homebred Lazy First Morn (First Down Morn-LS Lazy Money by Dash To Chivato) leads the Mooseman horses with the fourth-fastest time of :17.843. Lazy First Moon was third behind fastest-qualifier JS Ebonita (Jesses Sixes-Zelena Zbar by Zevi (TB)) and second-fastest qualifier Fool The Guys (Stel Corona-Fool The Boys by Hawkinson) in their trial.

The Jorge Miranda-owned and -trained JS Ebonita won the trial by a length with a :16.771 in her career debut.

Miranda also trains third-fastest qualifier A Regal Passion (A Regal Choice-Miss Nevada Bev by Reb’s Policy (TB)), owned by Jorge Nava. After two non-winning starts at Remington Park, she won her maiden in her trial by a length with a :17.009 time.
