One Valiant Hero won the $85,000 All American Juvenile Invitational (R) on September 2.

Owned by Valeriano Racing Stables LLC of Odessa, Texas, the colt broke from Post 4 and found a clear path during a bumpy break. He streaked to an impressive 1 3/4 length victory over Winter Is Coming. The horse was ridden by Jimmy Dean Brooks for trainer Eddie Willis, who yesterday celebrated a victory in the $2.8 million All American Derby (G1) with the Valiant Hero gelding Feature Hero.

"When a horse leaves the gate like that, you see a lot of daylight, that's a nice feeling,” said Brooks. “This is a game little colt."

One Valiant Hero went the 440 yards in :21.423.

“He's just a running son of a gun,” Willis said. “We’ve got him paid into the Blackgold Futurity."

Race favorite Jess Sayn was third, followed by Mr Eye Opener Too, Super Sporting Dash, Cantcatchtheheat, Valiant Meltdown, Daring And Dashing and DM One Hot Charmer. YM Rapid was scratched.

The winner of two of five starts, with one second place finish, One Valiant Hero earned $36,522 for the win to bring his career earnings to $66,442. In his second start, he finished fifth in the $318,500 Oklahoma Futurity (G2).

One Valiant Hero was bred by T I Cattle Co. and is by third-year sire Valiant Hero and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Smiles All Around. He is his dam’s first foal, and her first stakes winner.
