Ed Melzer’s Priceless Feature comes off a close third-place effort in the Mr Jet Moore Stakes as the odds-on favorite to head the $100,000 Sooner State Stakes (RG1) for older Oklahoma-breds on Saturday night at Remington Park.

Priceless Feature (Feature Mr Jess-Southern Price by Corona Cartel) was making his first start in six months in the $50,000 Mr Jet Moore Stakes on April 6. The proven Grade 1 horse should step up after that effort.

The Eddie Willis-trained gelding won last year’s Heritage Place Derby (G2) and nearly got the win in the Rainbow Derby (G1), where he was in the lead until the final stride when a flying Ochoa caught him to win by a scant head.

Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith’s Fast Prize Jordan (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Fast Prize Doll by Mr Jess Perry) is looking for his third-straight stakes win during the Remington Park season. The Brian Muse-trained 4-year-old drew out to a three-quarter-length win in the $50,000 Mighty Deck Three Handicap and then took the Mr Jet Moore by a neck as the second choice in the wagering.

Evelio Salazar’s Fast Prize Mike (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Fast Mans Prize by Heza Fast Man) is also after his third-straight stakes win. He closed out his 2012 campaign for trainer Steven Salazar back in November with a win in a division of the Evangeline Downs Derby and returned in March at Remington Park to win the $50,000 Eastex Handicap (G2) by a game neck.
