Champion Prospect To The Top returns to the races and his winning ways.

Champion Prospect To The Top made yet another successful return to the racetrack on Sunday afternoon, as he won the $40,000 All American Gold Cup (G3) for the second consecutive year.

The 5-year-old is owned by Joel Tavares, and was trained by Brandon Muniz and ridden by Oscar Rincon. He completed the 440-yards in :21.130, defeating stablemate Testing The Ice by a head. Champion Feature Mr Bojangles was third, followed by Jess Lips, A Toss Up, Willie Littlefortune and Smarty James.

The win marks the 11th victory in 23 career starts for Prospect To The Top. The stallion’s seven stakes victories include the Zia Park Championship (G1) and The Championship at Sunland Park (G1). He was the sport’s champion 3-year-old colt in 2011. He stood at stud the following spring, then returned to the races last year and was named the sport’s champion aged stallion after winning three of five starts. He returned to stud duties this spring as well before making his second comeback. Also an AQHA Supreme Race Horse, Prospect To The Top's $24,000 win check pushes his career earnings to $948,150.

Prospect To The Top was bred in Texas by Sue May. He is sired by Coronas Prospect and is out of the Easily Smashed mare Cream To The Top.

Prospect To The Top stands at JEH Stallion Station – Texas. His oldest foals will be yearlings next year.
