A rematch between the top-two-finishers in the Bienvenido De Nuevo Stakes, Freaking and Executive Prince, is set for Sunday at Hialeah Park in the $20,000 The Signature Stakes over 350 yards.

The Ricardo Martinez-owned and -trained Freaking (TR Dasher-Chickasis by Chicks Beduino) finished one-half length ahead of Bennie and Teresa Jeter’s Executive Prince (Executive Menace-Sticky N Picky by Sticks N Stones), however Freaking was disqualified and placed fourth for interference. The disqualification moved Executive Prince into the winner’s circle.

Executive Prince fits well at this stakes level. The Judd Kearl-trained gelding won the Live Oak Handicap at Retama Park last summer. He then went on to finish second in the Classic Chevrolet Stakes at Lone Star Park back in September.

Freaking won last year’s The Signature Stakes and followed with a head win in the City of Hialeah Stakes for his two wins from five starts at the South Florida track. The gelding looks to improve in The Signature since the Bienvenido De Nuevo Stakes was his first start following a four-month layoff.

Juan Cano’s Mr Comando (Feature Mr Jess-Unloved by White Tie) makes his Hialeah Park debut after moving up from the Los Alamitos claiming ranks to place in stakes in his two latest starts. The Raul Gonzalez-trained gelding was second in the Fonner Park Invitational in July and then third in the Two Rivers Stakes at Prairie Meadows in October.
