Ridden by jockey Ed Walton, fastest qualifier Streakinshagginwagon returned to Ajax Downs Sunday afternoon to win the $86,212(US) Picov Derby. The bay gelding went wire-to-wire, defeating Mr Victory Six by three-quarters of a length.

Silken Memories finished a neck back in the show position. Jason Pascoe saddled Streakinshagginwagon to his fourth win in eight career starts for owner GFR Equine Services. Streakinshagginwagon completed the 350 yard course in :17.600, earning a 102 speed index. The $33,369(US) winner's purse more than doubled the PYC Paint Your Wagon 3-year-old's earnings to $54,146.

Bred in Ontario by M.C. and Cendy Stucks, Streakinshagginwagon has made only one start off the Ajax Downs racetrack when he was sixth in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G3) at Los Alamitos Race Course last November. He is out of the Streakin La Jolla mare La Jolla Fortune.

Texas-bred Mr Victory Six picked up $16,685(US) while finishing second for owner/trainer Renee Wilson. Daniel Rose rode the Tres Seis gelding out of Judinell Jo, by Special Leader. Barry Thompson bred Mr Victory Six.

Silken Memories races for Joyce and Erik Lehtinen and is trained by Erik. The Ontario homebred daughter of Pappasito is out of Is It Memorex, by Leaving Memories. Ridden by Brittany Vanden Berg, the sorrel miss earned $9,737(US) for the effort.
