Tac It To Heart in Contentious La Pacifica

Two Tac It Like A Man fillies head up La Pacifica.

May 10, 2012

Spartan 300’s Tac It To Heart looks to gain a win after a pair of second-place runs when she starts against a contentious full field of 3-year-old fillies in the $25,000 La Pacifica Handicap on Saturday night at Los Alamitos.

Tac It To Heart (Tac It Like A Man-Let’s Eat Lunch (TB) by Nostalgia’s Star) was second to the highly regarded BF Farm Girl two starts ago in the Jim Smith Handicap and then came back to just miss by a nose in a conditioned allowance race at Los Alamitos for trainer Tom Bazley.

After being winless in five starts last year, Tac It To Heart has moved forward this year with two wins, a pair of seconds and a third-place finish from five starts.

Jeryl Hartley and John Firth’s Chickitita (Tac It Like A Man-The Devine Miss Em by Corona Cartel) is also looking for a win after a series of contending efforts. The John Cooper-trained filly has a second and three third-place finishes in her latest four starts, including third-place efforts in the Huntington Beach Handicap and the Markel Stakes.

Brenda and Harvey Pickens’ A First Down Snow (First Down Dash-Springtime Snow by This Snow Is Royal) finds class relief in the La Pacifica. The Bret Vickery-trained filly closed out her 2-year-old campaign by qualifying for the PCQHRA Breeders Futurity (G2) and comes off a sixth-place finish in the La Primera Del Ano Derby (G3).
