Battle in the Saddle

The Battle is on, and the Journal is there!

Battle in the Saddle is owned by Oklahoma State Fair and managed by the American Quarter Horse Association. The 2012 event, heralded as the great American western horse showdown, will be held July 3-8 in Oklahoma City. All breeds are welcome but American Quarter Horses competing will receive AQHA points.

Last year’s Battle in the Saddle was held July 5-9 in Oklahoma City and featured more than $130,000 in added money and an estimated $300,000 in purses.

Classes and events featured at the 2012 Battle in the Saddle include: the World's Greatest Horseman Shootout, versatility ranch horse competition, cutting, roping, cowboy mounted shooting, barrel racing, working cow horse, a ranch remuda challenge and the 2012 Merial Ranch Sorting National Championships National Finals.
