The World Conformation Horse Association has announced that the WCHA Breeders Championship Futurity will be held September 14 and 16 at the Tennessee Miller Coliseum in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The event will be in conjunction with the Big Money Halter Futurity to be held September 15, and the Tennessee Quarter Horse Association Circuit, September 14-16, also in Murfreesboro.

The combined payout for both the WCHA and Big Money futurities is estimated at potentially more than $300,000.

In 2011, the WCHA Breeders Championship Futurity was held in conjunction with the Iowa Futurity Extravaganza. The new WCHA dates will allow exhibitors to show in Tennessee and continue on to the futurities in Iowa, and the new location offers opportunities to draw new exhibitors from across the southeast.

“We think that September 2012 will be one of the greatest Septembers for conformation horse enthusiasts in the history of our industry,” says Wayne Halvorson, chairman of the WCHA executive committee. “It’s a big step forward for the halter industry to have these futurities offering the kind of money we’re seeing. We’re excited to be a part of it.”

The Murfreesboro facility offers reasonable stall rates and move-in times, in addition to numerous camper hook-ups convenient to the coliseum and barns. It also boasts ample warm-up and stalling space, in addition to a large vendor concourse.

In other news, the WCHA annual meeting will take place March 9, during the AQHA Convention at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

In addition, the 2012 WCHA judges exam will be held in conjunction with the AQHA judges exam April 23-24 in Gainesville, Texas.
