The National Collegiate Equestrian Association, formerly known as Varsity Equestrian, is divided into two disciplines: hunter seat and western. Each discipline will have its own bracket with 12 teams in it at the NCEA National Championships, slated this year for April 18-20 in Waco Texas. Each of the two divisions has a 12-team seeded bracket similar to that of the NCAA basketball championships. Teams are seeded from one through 12 and placed accordingly into the bracket.

At last year's NCEA National Championships, Texas A&M University won the overall championship, along with its fourth consecutive championship in the western bracket. In the hunter seat bracket, Baylor won the national championship.
