Oklahoma State's Larry Sanchez is named NCEA Coach of the Year for 2013.

Oklahoma State University head equestrian coach and AQHA Professional Horseman Larry Sanchez has been named the Coach of the Year for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association.

Sanchez was voted the top coach in collegiate equestrian by his NCEA peers at the spring meetings in Indianapolis.

NCEA is an NCAA-emerging sport.

Sanchez, who was voted Big XII Coach of the Year in April, led the Cowgirls to a western national championship in at the NCEA National Championships in Waco. It marked the fourth western championship for Oklahoma State, as the Cowgirls previously won the western championship in 2000, 2003 and 2004. Sanchez also guided Oklahoma State to its second straight Big 12 Championship this season.

The Cowgirls had eight student-athletes named to the All-Big XII Team this season. Two were named Big XII Riders of the Year, and one Cowgirl was named Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Sanchez just completed his 14th season at Oklahoma State.
