Qualify through your affiliate for the AQHA Novice championships.

Qualifying Period: May 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013

Ontario Quarter Horse Association exhibitors are encouraged to submit a letter expressing their interest in provincially qualifying for the AQHA Novice Championship shows. The letter will assist the OQHA in identifying those individuals who wish to participate.

Letters must be received in the OQHA office by June 30, 2013.

• All Novice youth and Novice amateur exhibitors will earn state affiliate show points at AQHA/OQHA-approved shows during the qualifying period.
• Must be a member in good standing with AQHA and OQHA
• OQHA will submit the top three point-earning exhibitors in each of the Novice classes held at the Novice Championship shows.
• If any of the top three point-earning exhibitors has nationally qualified, the next exhibitor in the point standings would become eligible.
• If there are not three qualifiers in all classes, non-filled “slots” can be reallocated to those classes already with three qualifiers; a maximum of up to six qualifiers can be recommended to AQHA.
• Points will be compiled on a one-horse, one-exhibitor basis
• In the event of a tie, the exhibitor placing in the most shows will break the tie

OQHA points are awarded based on the number of horses in the class and the exhibitor placing. The maximum points earned in a class are 9. Listed below is how OQHA points are awarded per the Novice Championship shows state qualifying system.
