Qualify through your affiliate for the AQHA Novice championships.

Qualifying Period: May 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013

  • The Pacific Coast Quarter Horse Association will provide the list of state qualifiers to AQHA. AQHA will send an invitation to state qualifiers to attend one of two shows, Las Vegas or Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
  • PCQHA membership is required. 
  • Starting in 2013, AQHA is only permitting three state qualifiers from California in each class.  These are in addition to exhibitors who qualified nationally, through 20 shows or a top-10 placing at an AQHA regional championship show. 
  • Classes offered and their qualifying point requirements are listed below. 
    • For classes requiring 18 points, exhibitors must show to at least 10 AQHA judges per class at PCQHA-approved shows and earn the required PCQHA points to qualify.
    • For classes requiring 4.5 points, exhibitors must show to at least four AQHA judges per class at PCQHA-approved shows and earn the required PCQHA points to qualify. 
    • If the required number of judges is not available due to classes not being offered during the qualifying period, the exhibitor will then be eligible for qualification based on the required points earned.
    • All state qualifiers must meet the minimum numbers of points and judges set forth below.
    • Qualifying slots not earned by an exhibitor in a particular class may be reallocated to another class, if permitted by AQHA, and if there are exhibitors in such class meeting the points and judges requirements.

In the event that AQHA changes its criteria for state qualifiers during the qualifying year, PCQHA may make changes to these requirements during the qualifying year as it deems best to comply with AQHA changes.
