AQHA announces a new award for competitors at the 2012 Adequan Select World Championship Show.

The American Quarter Horse Association has opportunities for all ages especially at this year’s Adequan Select World Championship Show August 24 - September 1 at the Tri-State Fairgrounds in Amarillo. Not only is AQHA recognizing the Intermediate and Super-Select exhibitors, but also the Nutrena Senior Athletes of the Show.

AQHA is proud to team up with corporate partner Nutrena for this award. The Nutrena Senior Athletes of the Show recognizes not only the exhibitors but also the equine athletes. The award will be presented to the exhibitor and horse at the Adequan Select World with the highest combined age.

The Nutrena Senior Athletes of the Show will be announced during the Adequan Select World and will win 500 pounds of Nutrena feed.

AQHA is celebrating the 10th year of the Adequan Select World, which is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse exhibitors, ages 50 and over, around the world. These exhibitors must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. The 1,270 entries at this year’s event, representing competitors from 40 of the United States, Argentina, Canada and Sweden, are competing for 43 world championships.
