Tenth Adequan Select Begins

AQHA Select World begins in Amarillo - the world's biggest equine event exclusive to riders ages 50 and over.

It’s year No. 10 for the Adequan Select World Championship Show – the world’s biggest equine event exclusive to riders ages 50 and over.

More than 1,270 entries coming from the United States, Argentina, Canada and Sweden are in Amarillo August 24 - September 1. They spent the show year qualifying to compete for 43 Select world championships and a total purse of payout and awards at $512,200.

Big Facts
*67 exhibitors are considered “Super-Select” – age 70 and over
*The biggest class this year is ranch sorting – 146 entries in 73 teams
*828 horses will be shown by 635 exhibitors
*859 western entries; 132 English entries; 282 halter entries
*63 are eligible for the Farnam Select All-Around Amateur title

Fun and Games
Are you in Amarillo for the show? Listen to the announcer for random fun and games – and a chance to win prizes such as a Kindle Fire, Pendleton Whisky, digital camera, Montana Silversmiths watch, digital picture frame, wine, $100 Smart Pak gift cards and more!
  • Daily Grand Prize Basket – every day, every exhibitor showing that day is entered  into a random drawing for a gift basket. The name is drawn in the morning – then presented during the class the exhibitor is showing in.
  • Dance Minute – When the announcer calls for it, two prizes will go to the top two most-enthusiastic dancers.
  • Grab ‘N’ Go – the first person to bring whatever item the announcer calls for (usually Corporate Partner-related) to the AQHA booth wins a prize.
