The 2012 Pfizer Versatility Ranch Horse and AQHA Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championship Show has started.
The 2012 Pfizer Versatility Ranch Horse and American Quarter Horse Association Cowboy Mounted Shooting World Championship Show kicked off the first day of competition February 28 in Houston. Classes began at 2 p.m. in the Reliant Arena with amateur ranch cutting, followed by open ranch cutting and the AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge.
This year’s event runs February 28 - March 2 in Houston as part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The event also features an AQHA ranch pleasure class and AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge, presented by Bar G Feedyard.
“AQHA members worked hard yearlong to qualify for the honor to compete at this year’s Pfizer Versatility World and Cowboy Mounted Shooting World,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway Jr. “We want to welcome and congratulate all contestants, and the Association looks forward to a great event and wishes everyone the best of luck.”

The Pfizer Versatility World and Cowboy Mounted Shooting World is an event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify by earning a predetermined number of points to compete. More than 100 entries from 22 states, as well as Argentina and Germany, are competing for six world championships and a purse of $66,500 at this year’s event.
