Noted halter exhibitor Don Falcon shows for students at the judging contest.
Judging teams from 19 colleges and universities competed in the 2010 World Show intercollegiate judging contest November 17. In all, 97 college students participated in the event.
Teams looked at horses in four halter classes and eight performance classes. They also presented oral reasons defending their placings.
“This contest is a chance for some of the best collegiate horse judging teams in the country to see some of the best American Quarter Horses in the country,” said Ward Stutz, AQHA senior director of breed integrity, animal welfare and education. “Exhibitors at the AQHA World Championship Show donate their horses and time for this contest because they believe in the program.”
At an awards banquet November 18, teams and individuals were recognized for their placings. Here are the top competitors:
