Hot Ones Only is at his second AQHA World Championship Show and ready to defend his four world championship titles from last year.
"Bruno," with Sharnai Thompson aboard, was able to capture his first gold at the 2010 World Show on November 7 in amateur hunter under saddle.
“That was the best ride I’ve ever had on him.” Sharnai said. “I’ve had some good ones, but that was just effortless. He was great. I couldn’t have asked for him to be any better.”
Along the way to success, Sharnai and Bruno have had help from AQHA Professional Horsemen Beth Case, Charlie Cole and Jason Martin of Highpoint Performance Horses.
At the 2009 World Show, Bruno competed in amateur hunter under saddle and pleasure driving, with Sharnai. Beth rode him in junior hunter under saddle, and Charlie was his pilot for pleasure driving.
With one class down, Bruno has three more chances to make this year’s World Show a repeat. Bruno and Sharnai will be competing in the amateur pleasure driving November 11, Charlie is taking him in junior pleasure driving November 18, and Beth will show Bruno on November 20 in junior hunter under saddle.
In addition to his World Show wins, Bruno has earned his Superior in hunter under saddle.
At home, Bruno is an easy keeper and well loved by his family.
“He is sweet as can be and very laid back.” Sharnai said. “He is just a happy guy and fun, lots of fun.”
Sharnai’s mother, Tammy Dyer of Pilot Point, Texas, was just as excited about the win as her daughter.
“He’s the best.” Tammy added. “We raised him, and it makes it more fun when you raise them.”
