Qualify for the 2014 AQHA World Championship Show before July 31.

American Quarter Horse exhibitors still have time to earn the last of the points needed to qualify for the 2014 AQHA World Championship Show November 7-22 in Oklahoma City.

The July 31 qualifying deadline is approaching soon. However, there are plenty of shows between now and then to get qualified. Visit www.aqha.com/showschedule for a schedule of the locations and dates of shows across the country. A listing of the shows can also be found in the latest edition of The American Quarter Horse Journal.

Exhibitors will compete for more than $2.6 million in cash and prizes from AQHA corporate partners, a coveted gold trophy, a specially designed Montana Silversmiths belt buckle and the chance to earn the title of world champion.

A handful of horses will qualify to compete for the most prestigious award at the AQHA World Show, the Farnam Superhorse. The Farnam Superhorse title is awarded to the horse that earns the most points in three or more open events in two categories during the show. The Farnam Superhorse receives $25,000, plus $2,000 in Farnam product, a WeatherBeeta blanket, an original Lisa Perry bronze and a rose bouquet. The reserve Farnam Superhorse receives a prize package that includes $10,000, plus $1,000 in Farnam product. The third- through fifth-place Farnam Superhorses each receive $2,500, plus $500 in Farnam product.

The Farnam Superhorse award is made possible by AQHA Corporate Partner Farnam, the official fly control, deworming, grooming and conditioning products supplier of AQHA since 2004. Whether you’re at a show or on a trail ride, it takes time and dedication to make your horse look his best. As your partner in horse care, Farnam continues to offer products people know, use and trust.

On the amateur side of things, one talented amateur competitor and his or her versatile American Quarter Horse will be crowned as the Farnam All-Around Amateur. The duo must compete in a minimum of three events in two categories. Meet the 2013 Farnam All-Around Amateur winners, Meghan O’Malley and A Chanceof Blueskies.

The AQHA World Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing English, over fences, western, speed, cattle and halter events. Without the support of these AQHA partners, the AQHA World Show would be impossible. Our thanks go to these partners for supporting this event: Adequan, Bank of America, B&W Trailer Hitches, Double J Saddlery, Farnam, Ford Motor Co., John Deere, Justin Boots, Markel Insurance Co., Merial, Montana Silversmiths, Nutrena, Professional’s Choice, SmartPak, Weatherbeeta, Wrangler and Zoetis.
