Lookin For Romance found gold November 22 at the 2013 AQHA World Championship Show.

AQHA Professional Horseman Ted Turner Jr. of Aubrey, Texas, led the buckskin mare to the title in 2-year-old fillies.

“She’s a beautiful mare,” said Kathi Lawrence of Carthage, Missouri, who conditioned “Honeybunny” for the World Show. “She’s the kindest, sweetest thing. Her mother and her father were both famous in the Quarter Horse industry. She’s sired by Acoolest, who was a multiple world champion.”

Lookin For Romance is a 2011 buckskin mare by Acoolest and out of Bob Bob Barann by What About Mr Bob. She was third in amateur 2-year-old fillies and first in Intermediate during Bank of America Amateur Week with Kathy Sheahan of  Elkhorn, Wisconsin, then a co-owner of the mare with Mary Mancini of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Lookin For Romance changed hands November 20.

“Her new owners, Billy and Suzonne Franks, are just ecstatic, and they will give her a wonderful home,” Kathi said. “(AQHA Professional Horseman) Jarrell Jackson is their trainer, and he does a good job. He came and picked her out for them. It’s all good. It’ll be great.”

Lookin For Romance placed first on three judges’ cards in the open class, second on one and fifth on one, beating second-place finisher and 2013 amateur champion Giancarla by 29 points.

“This mare is balanced,” Kathi said. “She’s big. She’s kind. We were excited that she had a chance (to win).”

And Honeybunny has earned her nickname.

“She never does anything wrong. She’s as sweet as can be,” Kathi said. “I know (the Franks will) take her home and love her to death. They think the world of her already, and she’ll be a wonderful addition to their program. They have some gorgeous mares. They’re looking forward, and they’re very excited about her."
