The 2012 AQHYA high-point winners will be recognized during the Parade of Teams at the 2013 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.

Exciting enhancements are coming to this year's Ford Youth World in Oklahoma City.

Exciting enhancements are coming to the 2013 Built Ford Tough American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show, August 2-10 at the State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The Ford Youth World features the world’s top youth riders and their American Quarter Horses.

This year, the 2012 AQHYA year-end high-point winners will be recognized in a special celebration during the Parade of Teams on August 4. The youth high-point winners will be honored in front of their peers, friends and family for their great accomplishments.

Free Ride the Rail/Ride the Pattern clinics will return to the Ford Youth Word. Sponsored by Nutrena, the free clinics will be taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen. Disciplines featured at the clinics include showmanship, trail, horsemanship and hunter under saddle.

AQHYA members also have the chance to compete in an array of contests outside of the arena, from judging to speech to horse bowl and team demonstrations, and even a variety show. Ford Youth World teams will also compete for points in a team spirit contest. A tentative schedule of contests can be viewed here.

Competitors can verify their qualification to this year’s Ford Youth World by visiting the Competitors Resources section of www.aqha.com/youthworld. AQHYA members competing to nationally qualify should also note the extension of the qualifying deadline to Monday, May 27, 2013; the original qualifying period was to end April 30. Points earned from May 1-27 will also count toward national qualification to the 2014 Ford Youth World Show.
