Justine Moore, aspiring exhibitor and Journal on the Road correspondent for The American Quarter Horse Journal, recalls a diverse day of competition at the 2011 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show.

Making her way to Oklahoma City from Lake Oswego, Oregon, Justine has been reporting on her first experience at the Ford Youth World in a Journal on the Road blog.

Take a look at a few highlights from Justine's favorite day -- so far -- at the Ford Youth World:

  • The attention to detail and confidence that the 15 exhibitors in the showmanship finals put on the display
  • Whoopin' and hollerin' in the reining finals
  • Great communication and cooperation between horses and riders in the western riding finals
  • Degree of difficulty and precise in the western horsemanship finals

And Justine was surprised by what exhibitors in the western horsemanship finals were wearing this year. What's your guess? Find out the answer in Justine's Journal on the Road blog at americashorsedaily.com.
